The Allman Brothers Band
L'Allman Brothers Band était un groupe de rock sudiste américain dans les années 1970. Il s'est formé à l'origine en 1969 avec Duane Allman (guitare slide), Gregg Allman (chant, orgue), Dickey Betts (guitare), Berry Oakley (guitare basse), Butch Trucks (batterie) et Jai Johanny "Jaimoe" Johanson (batterie).
En 1971, peu après que leur premier album soit devenu disque d'or, Duane et Berry ont été tués dans des accidents de moto distincts dans la ville natale du groupe, Macon, en Géorgie. Le groupe a continué à sortir d'autres albums et chansons, notamment Ramblin' Man et Jessica, qui ont été leurs plus grands succès. En 2004, Rolling Stone les a classés 52e sur la liste des 100 plus grands artistes de tous les temps. Le groupe est toujours en tournée en 2008.
